Ashley’s goal is to lose half of her body weight before her 21st birthday.
The ABC nutritionist put her on a 1,500 calorie a day plan and Chris noted that she will be at a 3,000 calorie a day deficit versus her old eating plan.
Ashley’s phase 1 goal – 90 days is to lose 80 pounds. During phase 1, Ashley confronted her father for never being there for her and also had to confront her family for not being supportive enough during her transformation. Several times over the first 90 days, Chris tried to bring Ashley and her mother together and the mother always fought it. What I see is a mother who is scared that her daughter might be able to accomplish her transformation goal and move out and that worries her mother.
Ashley ended phase 1 at 255, 12 pounds below the goal.
For phase 2, Chris set the goal to lose 50 pounds with a tease that at the end of phase two, they will go to Hawaii for a workout. During phase 2, Ashley moved out to a friend’s house and appeared to be doing much better with her transformation. I think the therapist said it best that we can’t change other people, we can only change ourselves. This was something I wish I had learned 10 yrs ago.
Ashley ended phase 2 with 38 pounds lost, below the goal of 50 pounds. I think the moving out was also a “good loss” so to me she did hit her goal.
Ashley and Chris went to Hawaii and Ashley had to hike 15 miles alone to the top of the mountain and then take a zip line to the bottom.
The goal for phase 3 was to lose at least 40% of her body weight to be a candidate for the skin removal surgery. Ashley came in at 144 pounds total lost in 9 months and at a weight of 179. The doctor said she was an excellent candidate for the skin removal surgery.
Ashley celebrated her 21st birthday in Las Vegas. She ended the year losing 156 pounds!! Congrats to Ashley – the whole world and her whole life is in front of her!
