Throughout my journey, I’ve never told people that I am “on a diet” – I never think to myself that I am “on a diet”. I always refer to what I am doing as “creating a new healthy lifestyle”.
Why is this? To me the word diet indicates a temporary change. You are doing something bad, so you diet to get to where you want to be. But then what? It seems like no matter who I talk to, what I read or see on tv, people who diet eventually go back to where they started from and then they have to diet all over again. And the cycle continues and continues and continues.
What I am doing is building a new foundation – I completely demolished the old foundation and am slowly working towards a new, stronger, fitter, better in every way shape and form foundation. And I think we are close enough to having a perfect new foundation that slowly the next level is taking shape. Heck, I put Acai powder in a smoothie this morning!
The blueprint that my nutritionist and I have worked up for me will take lots more levels but to get to that top level, you really need a good, strong foundation.
