It seems like a day doesn’t go by that we either hear “eat your greens” or “drink your greens”. Most people I talk to either favor kale or spinach as their green vegetable of choice. I have been putting about 1/3 pound of spinach (5 handfuls) in my morning green smoothies and I’ve been drinking a full bunch of dino kale in my evening green juices.
But which one, spinach or kale, packs the most overall power? Which one is the better one to consume? Ok fine, spoiler alert…you need to consume a variety of greens to make sure you get all your vitamins and minerals. Just because kale might be the media darling currently, does not mean you should pass spinach, swiss chard, collards, etc. by in the supermarket!
